Wedding DJ & Emcee Job Description

This position is a perfect opportunity for outgoing and energetic people who either have or would like to gain experience in the entertainment industry. OpenBox Events is a wedding experience company that brings many of the special day’s creative elements under one roof, with one in-house team. Our own team creates all videos, takes the photos, and DJs the special day, simplifying what would otherwise be a head-spinning, complicated process for a busy bride and groom.

It also means unmatched professionalism from our team — producing great weddings is what we do, which means we’re available all the time to provide unmatched customer service and turnaround times for our video and photography projects.

Experience as a DJ is not necessary, but if you have MC or freelance experience, all the better. It will be possible to train for this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • With Operations Director, meet with clients to understand music selection, wedding theme and aesthetic, and curate a playlist to meet these needs.
  • Organize a timeline of events for each wedding with Operations Manager, and coordinate day-of schedule.
  • On the event day, implement and manage timeline for each wedding. Work closely with the wedding’s assigned point of contact to keep all parties on time.
  • Organize, manage, and setup all DJ equipment, including speakers, mixers, lights, etc.

To apply: Submit your name, resume, and email address to kelsey@fmjim.com. Prepare a memorized 5 minute speech to give during your interview that showcases your personality and speech style. Bonus points for making us laugh.

Pay: $20-40/hour based on experience. Weekend availability expected, as well as standing availability during the week to coordinate and meet with clients.
